Type JDC Direct Drive Up Blast Power Roof Ventilators

APPLICATIONS: American CoolAir JDC ventilators are designed for minimal maintenance requirements and efficient, economical operation. These fans are suggested for use in situations where the installed fan will be difficult to reach for periodic maintenance, and where the fan assembly must be located above the roof, to discharge up in the air, and to have low profile.

CONSTRUCTION:Type JDC ventilators are constructed to discharge vertically so that air velocity seals the opening against rain and snow. When the fan is off, counterbalanced fiberglass damper doors/flaps close by gravity to a weather-resistant closure and serve as a skylight. The motor is recessed into the roof curb. The JDC PRVs incorporate an all-welded curb cap and rugged angle frame design. The fan motor is supported by all welded heavy gauge motor base. The blade assembly is attached direct to teh motor shaft. JDC PRVs have cast aluminum adjustable pitch airfoil blades that are securely attached to a heavy cast aluminum hub. Blade pitch is set for catalog performance. There are no bearings or belts to require maintenance. Many motors are permanently lubricated. Blade pitch is set for catalog performance.

COATINGS: The JDC painted parts are coated with a thermosetting epoxy coating rated for hardness, impact resistance, adhesion and chemical resistance. Parts requiring painting are processed through the American Coolair five-stage pretreatment system prior to the application of any coatings to ensure maximum finish adhesion. These parts use a thermosetting epoxy powder paint with an average thickness of 3 mils and baked at 400°F.

DIRECT DRIVE: Direct driven models use Adjustable Pitch Airfoil Props which allows to adjust performance by varying pitch of the blades.

MOTORS: Type JDC feature American Coolair’s air-over-motor design, which provides extra capacity and economy as it serves to dissipate heat and thus increase horsepower capability. Totally enclosed motors are standard. Several alternatives, such as explosion-proof motors, two speed motorsd, energy efficient motors and severe duty motors, are available to fit your specific needs. Only nationally recognized brand motors with nationwide service facilities are used.

WIRING: Type JDC PRVs feature a conduit through the curb cap for convenience in connecting power supply. If a safety disconnect switch accessory is specified, it is mounted above curb cap and attached to the conduit for a rain-resistant connection and switch enclosure.

CERTIFICATION: All Type J ventilators are listed by Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. to U.S. and Canadian safety standards. Certified ratings licensed by AMCA (Air Movement and Control Association, Inc.), for both air and sound performance are available for all Type J and JTE PRVs. (UL705 – E39944)
