The New York Blower Company
PB Type Pressure Blowers and HPPB Type High Pressure Pressure Blowers
The New York Blower Pressure Blowers are designed for continuous operation in combustion, cooling, conveying, drying, and various process systems. All applications can be handled in either induced-draft or forced-draft configurations. Uses include: Combustion air, Glass-blowing, Injection-type conveyors, Furnace blowers, Cooling systems, System exhaust, Air knives, Thermal oxidation, Chemical process, Moisture blow-off, Drying applications, Fluidizing systems.
Capacity: to 5,200 CFM and to 58”WG for Pressure Blowers (PB), and up to 20,000 CFM and pressures to 128”WG for High Pressure Pressure Blowers (HPPB). The pressure curve remains stable from wide-open to closed-off and fan instability, or pulsation, is eliminated even when “turn-down” approaches zero flow.
The New York Blower type PB and type HPPB Pressure Blower features all-welded heavy gauge steel housings designed to prevent “flexing” at high pressures; straightened shafting to close tolerance to minimize “run-out” and ensure smooth operation; lifting eyes for easy handling; and standard industrial coating after shop surface preparation; blower bearings with adapter-mount concentric locking collars for optimum shaft-to-bearing fit to ensure long bearing life and reduced vibration. The pressure blower is available in direct drive arrangements (4,7,8) and belt-drive arrangements (1,9,10).
PB and HPPB Wheel Choice: Pressure Blowers are available with variable wheel diameters in standard aluminum wheel construction for optimum efficiency, or optional steel wheel construction for more rugged applications. Bolted hub with straight bore, or taper-bore bushing is used to secure wheel to shaft. All wheels are precision-balanced. Fans with motors and drives mounted by nyb are given a final trim balance check at the specified running speed.
PB and HPPB Inlet/Outlet Connections: a choice of plain pipe inlet, inlet flange, or inlet Venturi with guard allows units to be tailored to specific application requirements. A choice of seven flanged outlet sizes (3,4,6,8,10,12,14) with ANSI 125/150 bolt pattern, or ISO/DIN standard enable efficient fan selection across a wide range of volumes and pressures.
Matching PB and HPPB Companion Flanges as well as with PB and HPPB Flex Joints used to eliminate transmission of vibrations are optional accessories.
PB and HPPB Drain & Plug: Drain tank flange is welded to the lowest point of the housing scroll with female pipe thread, to accept standard pipe Plug.
PB and HPPB Inlet Filters are available with a choice of three element types: wire mesh, hi-flow polyester, and ultra-synthetic. High efficiency filter is flange-mounted. Furnished standard with outboard support bracket and available with or without protective Hood and Silencer (Filter-Silencer Assembl, or Filter Silencer assembly with Hood).
PB and HPPB Silencers are available to match standard inlet or outlet flange sizes. Heavy-welded construction filled with high-density, acoustical absorption material. For additional noise attenuation customer choose between acoustical jacket and acoustical cladding on the housing. Cladding consists of 2” acoustical mineral-wool insulation wrapped over the blower housing and covered with a welded steel jacket. To be most advantageous with blower acoustical cladding, all inlet and outlet ductwork should also be wrapped and acoustically cladded.
PB and HPPB Outlet Dampers are available as either an integral outlet design for fixed damper control or as a separate wafer lug design for variable-flow applications. Wafer Damper and Lug Dampers are available with an optional actuator and positioner.
PB and HPPB Low Leakage LL Construction and Shaft Seals options include: Ceramic-felt seal -consist of compressed ceramic felt elements. Lubricated lip seals [Buna, Teflon®, and Viton®, or with different elastomers ] and gas-purgeable, segmental bushing seals (John Crane). LL-1, LL-2, LL-3, LL-4 low leakage construction is a special construction used to minimize leakage, includes lip type shaft seal, non-rotatable housing with solid drive side, double studs, and special gasketing. Full-face gasketing is used between the inlet plate and housing side sheet as standard construction. Special gasketing is available to handle a wide range of applications. Maximum temperature for low leakage constructions is 200°F. due to gasketing limitations.
PB and HPPB Access Doorsare gasketed, flush-bolted and provide access to the wheel.
PB and HPPB Heat Fan Construction is available on Arrangements 1, 8, 9, and 10 steel wheel Pressure Blowers up to 600°F. Modifications include shaft cooler and shaft-cooler guard.
PB and HPPB Special Alloy Construction: airstream components can be constructed of a wide range of alternate alloys for corrosive applications: 950X/960X alloy; 980X alloy, aluminum, high strength aluminum 6061-T6 ; Monel, 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, 2205 stainless steel, corten, etc.
PB and HPPB Unitary Base: Fan, motor, and guards and accessories, such as inlet filter, or silencer can be mounted and shipped on a rugged, structural-steel base. Rubber-in-shear or spring-type isolation mounted to the unitary base reduces the transmission of vibration to the mounting structure.
SRCPB and HPPB Spark Resistant Construction is intended to minimize the potential for any two or more fan components to generate sparks within the airstream by rubbing or striking during operation. The following types are available: AMCA A [AIRSTREAM] SRC includes all airstream parts constructed of a spark-resistant alloy for maximum temperature: 200°F; AMCA B [WHEEL] SRC / AMCA C [BUFFER] SRC includes the fan wheel constructed of a spark-resistant alloy and a buffer plate around the housing shaft-hole opening for maximum temperature: 200°F.
PB and HPPB Protective Coatings: Cost-effective protective coatings under a variety of trade names are available to increase the fan’s resistance to adverse, corrosive environments.
PNB and HPPB Drive components: motors, couplings, and v-belt drives, as well as a variety of preventive-maintenance products including vibration detectors, bearing-temperature detectors, and zero-speed switches are also available.
