MBHX Metal Building Packaged Fan
MBHX series metal building belt drive propeller fan packages manufactured by American CoolAir include fan unit, wall housing, automatic gravity shutter, and 1 X 1/2” PVC coated inlet guard. Panels and structural angle supports are welded steel construction with spun orifice to provide improved performance. Die formed steel blades are firmly attached to cast aluminum hub, which also serves as driven sheave. Fan hub rotates on fixed shaft using oversized sealed ball bearings. Bearings are permanently lubricated and sealed and have L10 life exceeding 300,000 hours. Belt load is applied to hub in the same plane as bearings, eliminating overhung load on bearings and increasing bearing life. Motor pulleys are of variable pitch to allow for in-field adjustment of the performance. All fans utilize specifically engineered airfoil venturi section. Standard motors are of totally enclosed air over TEAO energy efficient design. Standard coating system is 3 mil of transformer green epoxy finish after five stage surface preparation. Accessories include wall shutter, motor side, or front guard, wall housing, and fan controls. MBHX type Belt Drive Wall Fans are available in sizes from 48” to 60”. Performance is from 30,919 CFM to 41,888 CFM and static pressure from 0" WG to 1/2" WG. The setting made at the factory operates the fan at the maximum safe load of the motor. The pulley may be opened to reduce fan speed and thus decrease air flow and sound levels. All fans carry AMCA seal for Certfied performance ratings program tested in accordance with AMCA Publications 211 and 311 and licensed by AMCA. All models are listed by Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. to U.S. and Canadian Safety standards under UL705 - E39944 standard.
MBHX series fans are avialble with aluminum shutters with reinforced interlocking blades. The shutter is counterbalanced for automatic (gravity) operation. Optional economy Type LRW gravity-automatic wall shutter are optional. For air supply a motorized version of LRW-E is required combined with a delay switch. Shutter BG type Bird Guard is a flat guard made of 1/2" X 1", 16 Ga, PVC coated wire mounted at the front of the shutter.
MBHX series fans are avialble as standard with fan panel fabricated of heavy-gauge steel. Uprights which support the motor and propeller are formed from heavy-gauge steel angle for maximum strength and rigidity. The wall housing is fabricated of galvanized steel for rigidity, long life and years of protection against rust and corrosion. An exterior finish coat of epoxy can be specified. Type MH/MHH metal wall housing has turned in flanges at both ends allowing for through the wall installation from inside or outside the building. Wall housing accessories include DHMH Discharge Hood, DHMHG Discharge Hood Guard, IHMH Intake Hood, IHMHG Intake Hood Guard, MFMH Mounting Flanges, SMK Shutter Motor Kit.
DHMH metal housing discharge hood is designed to slip over the air-leaving end of the metal housing. If supplied without metal housing mounting flanges are required.
DHMHG discharge hood flat guard covers the free area of the discharge hood.
IHMH metal housing intake hood is designed to slip over the air-entering end of the metal housing. If supplied without metal housing mounting flanges are required.
IHMHG intake hood flat guard covers the free area of the intake hood.
MFMH metal housing mounting flanges are attached to the MH/MHH/MHX box, the intake hood, or discharge hood as needed.
