FGBC Fiberglass Farm Building Ventilation Fan
FGBC series of fiberglass ventilation fans feature molded fiberglass housing unit that ensures safety and efficiency of operation. The FGBC fans are supplied with cast aluminum blades, an all aluminum motor mount and shutters to increase resistance to corrosion. These direct drive fans are designed for applications where a minimum of maintenance and economical operation are required. All fittings are stainless steel. The FGBC fan is offered from 36" to 52" fan sizes and is shipped completely assembled with Discharge Cone, Discharge Guard, and Inlet Shutter in the carton.
FGBC series fans manufactured by American CoolAir’s Farm Products Division feature cast aluminum airfoil blade assemblies engineered to provide the most air performance. Blades are attached to Coolair’s innovative cast aluminum hub with four captured bearings, which also serves as a pulley. V-belts load is transmitted directly to the bearings, resulting in more economical operation and increased bearing life. Rotary auto belt tensioner ensures continuous optimal belt tension and peak fan operation. Specially formed structural components provide for a sturdy, yet aerodynamic support package. Fiberglass inlet shutter, discharge cones, cones guards and wall housings are designed to withstand severe corrosion. Motors are of energy efficient totally enclosed air over design with ball bearings The performance ratings were obtained through testing by the Bioenvironmental and Structural Systems Lab (BESS Lab) at the University of Illinois. All fans were tested with a shutter, discharge guard and discharge cone. The fan housing was mounted flush to the test chamber face, as in an actual building installation. Power measurements were taken on the fan/motor combination and include motor efficiency and drive losses. Standard fan accessories are:
SWH - Slope Wall Housing - The slope wall housing allows the shutter to be placed on the intake side of the fan and eliminates the air turbulence that occurs with the shutter on the exhaust side of the fan. It also prevents the warm air from being lost through the metal wall housing to the outside cold air in cold climate conditions. The SWH housing is constructed of moulded fiberglass for long, durable wear and low maintenance.
SWHCW - Slope Wall Housing with Discharge Cone - The addition of a discharge cone to the slope wall housing greatly increases the performance of the fan for a minimal initial investment. American Coolair’s discharge cones are specifically engineered to recover energy from the air stream, converting it into increased airflow (as much as 12%), while at the same time, reducing electrical power consumption. Cones are fiberglass and come with a concentric wire guard.
